   If you're going to use John Myung as an example you can at least spell his name right. Did you even read what I said? Picks and fingers generate two different tones. Good bassists can do both.

    ...John Alderete used his fingers back in the 80's.. You don't have to use your fingers for bass if you don't want to. Using a pick created a different tone than using your fingers. A good bass player would utilize both.
